Stripling’s Jalapeno Cheese Sausage

Since jalapenos are often served with cheese on top or stuffed inside, it made perfect sense here at our test kitchens at Stripling’s to take our much-loved link sausage and give it even more heat as well as the creaminess of cheese. Look no further for tonight’s supper, consider this riveting, filling entrée for Skillet Sausage and Rice. (see recipe below)

 Skillet Sausage and Rice

  • 1 lb. Stripling’s Smoked Jalapeno Cheese Sausage
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. chopped water chestnuts
  • 2 cloves garlic, diced
  • 1 (2 oz.) jar pimiento, drained
  • 3 1/2 c. cooked brown rice


In separate boiler, lightly steam sausage, which has been cut into 1/2 inch wedges. In skillet, melt butter, then add in water chestnuts, garlic, pimiento, and rice. When rice begins to brown, add in sausage and heat for another 2 minutes. Serve as a meal, making sure each portion has ample sausage.
