Garlic and Pepper Seasoning – 14oz
If you already know that you’ll be putting both garlic and pepper into a certain dish, reach only once. for Stripling’s Garlic & Pepper Seasoning. This particular blend helps you balance those spices so that you don’t too much of one at the expense of the other. In this recipe (below), the garlic and pepper are the real workhorses that unify the tomatoes and wine such that the steak has a bit more flair. In fact, just by adding rice (and perhaps a salad), you’ve got a meal in the making.
Spicy Tomato Steak
- 1 1/2 -2 lbs lean top sirloin steak
- 2 tsp. Stripling’s Garlic & Pepper Seasoning*
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 3 spring onions, chopped (both green and white portions)
- 1 (8 oz.) can of tomato sauce
- ½ c. red wine
- 2 tsp. minced parsley
- 1 (15 oz.) can of Mexican-style tomatoes
After removing any excess fat, cut steaks into individual portion amounts. Sprinkle with Stripling’s Garlic & Pepper Seasoning and allow to sit for a few minutes. Melt butter in iron skillet or saute pan on high heat. Cook exterior of steaks and remove from pan momentarily. Briefly cook onions, then add in tomatoes, wine, and parsley. Place steaks back in to this mixture, allowing everything to simmer on lowered heat for at least one hour (until meat is cooked to desired doneness). Mound tomato mixture over steaks to serve. *1 large container of Stripling’s Garlic & Pepper Seasoning will meet the recipe requirement and leave a hearty amount remaining for other uses!
