Spicy Tomato Steak

  • 1 1/2 -2 lbs lean top sirloin steak
  • 2 tsp. Stripling’s Garlic & Pepper Seasoning*
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 spring onions, chopped (both green and white portions)
  • 1 (8 oz.) can of tomato sauce
  • ½ c. red wine
  • 2 tsp. minced parsley
  • 1 (15 oz.) can of Mexican-style tomatoes

After removing any excess fat, cut steaks into individual portion amounts. Sprinkle with Stripling’s Garlic & Pepper Seasoning and allow to sit for a few minutes. Melt butter in iron skillet or saute pan on high heat. Cook exterior of steaks and remove from pan momentarily. Briefly cook onions, then add in tomatoes, wine, and parsley. Place steaks back in to this mixture, allowing everything to simmer on lowered heat for at least one hour (until meat is cooked to desired doneness). Mound tomato mixture over steaks to serve. *1 large container of Stripling’s Garlic & Pepper Seasoning will meet the recipe requirement and leave a hearty amount remaining for other uses!
